St. James advances to semis with win

ST. JAMES – The St. James Wildcats are again hot on the playoff trail, beating back Friday night’s challengers in the form of Parkview, as the Wildcats kept a 55-34 win.
St. James rolled up points like rolling thunder, and piled up a 41-14 halftime lead. Yet, Parkview battled back to lose by a more respectable margin.
Parkview scored first with Jacob Lennox passing 52-yards to Vince Morella. The PAT failed.
Jacque Vedol for St. James drew first blood on a 50-yard kickoff return. Jerome Lewis’s PAT was good for a 7-6 lead.
Antonio Phillips speared a pass to Javon Keller, who rambled 91-yards for the TD, matched by Lewis’s PAT for a 14-6 lead.
Tremaine Datremont scored on a 5-yard run, with the PAT making it 21-6. Next Luther Ambrose scored on a 60-yard run, again with the PAT making it 28-6. Vedol scored again, this on a fumble recovery and a 28-yard return, again with the PAT for a 35-6 lead.
next John Bolton scored for Parkview late in the second quarter, with a two-point run by David Armstrong making the tally 35-14.
Finally, Phillips hit Chase Green on a 16-yard pass for the touchdown, giving the Wildcats a 41-14 halftime lead.
In the third, Lennox scored for Parkview on a 35-yard run for a 41-20 score. Lennox then his William Lesever on a 17-yard TD play. The PAT was good for the 41-27 score. Phillips hit Datremont on a 10-yard pass, and Datrement scored on a 7-yard run for St. James’s 55-27 lead.
Bolton finished out for Parkview ona 10-yard run with PAT for the 55-35 final.
This week, St. James travels to Amite in the semifinal playoff round.
