BLAIN
ST. JAMES – Clarence “Baboon” Blain Sr., 76, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 13. He was the husband of the late Gloria Dean Watson, and father of Agnes Washington, Romalice Williams, Clarence Blain Jr., and the late Cardell Blain Sr.
He was also the son of the late Louis and Catherine Blain, and brother of Anita Dennis, and the late Sullivan, Tony, Louis, Oliver, Mary, Amelia and Ollie Blain.
He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
DICKERSON
LAUREL, MISS. – Dorothy Dickerson, 74, a native of Taylorville, Miss. And resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 16. She was the wife of J.C. Dickerson and mother of Brenda Moss, Betty Welch, Michael and Bobby Dickerson.
She was also the sister of Helen Sapienza, Virginia McDuffie, Susan Guidry and Curtls Little.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 18 in the chapel of Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Laurel, Miss., with interment at Sharon Community Church Cemetery.
HALL
LAPLACE – Sylvia Georgel Hall, 59, a native of LaPlace and resident of New Sarpy for 33 years, died Nov. 18. She was the mother of Michael Hall.
She was also the daughter of the late Augustine and Marceline Wempren Georgel, and sister of Anthony and Charles Georgel.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 18 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
HOMER
LUTCHER – Jerry B. Homer, 76, a native of Texas and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 15. He was the husband of Katherine Songy Homer and father of Tina Reulett, Kathy Triche and Mike Homer.
He was also the son of the late Grandy and Letha Pearl Hayes Homer, and brother of Ruth Roberts.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He received the Victory Medal in World War II.
Services were Nov. 17 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, with interment at St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Edgard.
JACOB
RESERVE – Marcel “Pete” Moise Jacob, 81, a native and resident of Reserve, died Nov. 17. He was the husband of Elsie Landry Jacob and father of Sandra Madere, Sharon Snyder and Marcel Jacob Jr.
He was also the son of the late Moise and Lydia Cambre Jacob, and brother of Shirleen Trosclair, Harry, Leonard and Robert Jacob, and the late Alma Guillot, Guy and Allain Jacob.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 18 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
MEALEY
KENNER – Wilbert Mealey Sr., 84, a native of Woodville, Miss., and resident of St. Rose, died Nov. 12. He was the husband of the late Janie Mealey, and father of Eva Rodney, Betty LeBoyd, Mary, James and Wilbert Mealey Jr., and stepfather of Helen McCray and Arthur Davis.
He was also the son of the late Rebecca Jackson and James Mealey, and brother of Mary Collins, Sidney, Frank, and the late Leguster, James, Leroy, Oliver, Beulah, J unious, Charles, Betty, Mae Bell and Jack Mealey.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m., at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at East Cedar Rest Cemetery, Woodville, Miss. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
PFISTER
NORCO – Joanne J. Pfister, 62, a resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 18. She was the wife of 48 years of Paul Pfister Sr., and mother of Paul Jr., William Sr., and Mark Pfister.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, starting at 3 p.m.
