DESTREHAN — Despite a heartbreaking loss to Thibodaux last week, Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux likes where his team stands entering Friday’s playoff opener against Ouachita.
“Thibodaux has a good football team and we played well against them. We just came up a little short,” the Destrehan head coach said. “Even though we lost Friday, I’m pleased with how we’ve been playing lately and I’m excited about the playoffs.”
Destrehan, Class 5A’s No. 11-ranked squad, finished 7-3 overall. Ouachita closed out the regular season with a 4-5 mark but still earned the No. 22 spot in the state.
“Ouachita is a very fast team and they run a multiple offense,” Robicheaux said. “They have a lot of speed at the wide receiver position and a sophomore quarterback who can really throw the ball.”
