The East St. John Wildcats scored an impressive 54-13 win over a game but overmatched team from St. Amant Friday night in first round playoff action, and, as expected, Wildcat quarterback Ryan Perrilloux put on quite a show.
Before the game was even three minutes old, Perrilloux started the entertainment with a 16 yard TD run to put the Wildcats up7-0.
With 4:39 still remaining in the first quarter, Josh Tuesno kept going right where Perrilloux left off scoring from eight yards out and making it 13-0 after a failed extra point attempt.
Perrilloux continued the scoring spree with a 41 yard bomb to Louis Lee with 2:43 remaining still in the first quarter. After another failed extra point attempt, the score stood at 20-0.
Tuesno kept pace with Perrilloux, scoring a 9 yard TD to make it 26-0. Perrilloux got the final say on the drive, however, converting the two-point conversion to end the first quarter lashing at 28-0.
St. Amant finally got on the board with 10:32 remaining in the second quarter when P.J. Brown caught an 8 yard touchdown pass, to close the gap tp 28-7.
Ryan Perrillous went right back to work though with another touchdown pass to Lee, which he then followed 23 yard interseption return for a touchdown. Just before the half ended St. Amant managed its final score for the night, bringing the score to 41-13 East St. John, at the half.
The third quarter started out with the Perrilloux juggernaught continuing, as Perrilloux scored on an 8 yard run with 8:32 left in the third quarter, which he then followed with a 15 yard run with 1:00 left in the third quarter. Perrilloux was then pulled from the game, and thus the scoring ended with Perrilloux having scored 7 touchdowns. East St. John action returns to action next week against Jesuit.
