BRIGNAC

RESERVE – Bessie Keller Brignac, 94, a native of Montz and resident of Reserve for 70 years, died Oct. 9. She was the wife of the late Albert Brignac Sr., and mother of Jackie Labat and Albert Brignac Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Wilford and Georgiana Perilloux Keller, and sister of Corinne McMillian, Evelyn Brady, and the late Earl Keller.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 11 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

BRIGNAC

PAULINA – Norris Anthony Brignac Sr., 73, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of Gramercy, died Oct. 7.

He was the husband of 49 years of Ruth Usey Brignac and father of Debra Bourgeois, “Rocky,” “Tiger,” “Shorty,” Dale and Mark Brignac.

He was also the son of the late Norman Sr., and Beatrice Hymel Brignac, and brother of Mildred Lear, Carolyn Grob, Joyce Cazanave, Norman Jr., Hubert and Melvin Brignac.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of 20 years service, a member of VFW post 5852 and retired from DuPont in LaPlace.

Services were Oct. 11 with military honors at St. Joseph Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

BUTLER

LAPLACE – Mary Gossett Butler, 51, a native of Florence, Ala., and resident of LaPlace for 22 years, died Oct. 9.

She was the wife of Billy Ray Butler and mother of Rebecca and Billy Butler Jr.

She was also the daughter of Jetlin Gossett, and the late Nesby Gossett.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 11 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with private interment.

CHEMAY

HAMMOND – Ruth Edith Davenport Chemay, 86, a native of New Orleans, longtime resident of LaPlace and resident of Hammond, died Oct. 8.

She was the wife of 63 years of Louis Chemay and mother of Frank, Frederick, Mark, Constance and Albert Chemay.

She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Constance Addington Davenport, and sister of the late Elizabeth Marsh, Katherine Boesch, Thomas, John and Benjamin Davenport.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a retired teacher and librarian for the St. John Parish school system. She was also a member of the LSU Symphony Orchestra which toured Europe in 1938.

Services were Oct. 11 in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, with interment at St. Margaret Catholic Church cemetery.

DELANEUVILLE

LAPLACE – Ronald “Ronnie” “Longboy” Delaneuville, 80, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 35 years, died Oct. 10.

He was the husband of Eileen Verrett Delaneuville and father of Ginger Lambert, Amy and Jeffrey Delaneuville.

He was also the son of the late Horace and Lillian Granier Delaneuville, and brother of Ruby Clement, Mary Ann Keller, Hazel Fontana, Mildred Rosetti, and the late Helen Borgeson, Edna Mae Duvielle, Henry Mire and Horace Delaneuville Jr.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 12 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

GAUBERT

HAHNVILLE – Earline Borne Gaubert, 83, a native and resident of Hahnville, died Oct. 7.

She was the wife of the late Lawrence Gaubert, and mother of Judith Zeringue, Charles, James and Virgil Gaubert.

She was also the daughter of Charles and Arthemise Falgout Borne and sister of Rena Simoneaux.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.

GUIDRY

DESTREHAN – Donald Charles Guidry, 68, a native of Luling and resident of Norco, died Oct. 7.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle Kliebert Guidry, and brother of Audrey Mae Friloux, Clyde and Joseph Guidry Jr.

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relations.

He was a past client of the ARC of St. Charles.

Services were Oct. 9 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.

LOUIS

VACHERIE – Devin “Chu-Chi” Floyd Anthony Louis, 17, a native and resident of Wallace, died Oct. 6.

He was the son of Connie Haydel and Clarence Louis and brother of Jonas and I’desai Louis.

He was also the grandchild of Theophile and Mercedes Haydel and James Louis, and the late Wilberine Louis.

Services were Oct. 12 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

LOUQUE

PAULINA – Wilfred “T-Pep” Michael Louque Sr., 86, a native of Convent and resident of Grand Point, died Oct. 8.

He was the husband of 53 years of Katherine Sternfels Louque and father of Kathy Bourgeois, Paul and Wilfred Louque Jr.

He was also the son of the late Alcide and Alice Miller Louque, and brother of Lucy Kliebert, Maria Poche, Alica Lambert, Elmire, Elmo and Ourien Louque.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.

Services were Oct. 11 with military honors at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

TAGGART

NEW ORLEANS – Sister Mary Anna Taggart, O.P ., 90 and in her 68th year of religious profession, died Oct. 10.

Sister Mary Anna was born Dorothy Alma Taggart in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of the late Warren and Anne Biri Taggart, and sister of the late George B. Taggart, Alice T. Gomila, Robert R. Taggart, Rose Taggart, and Lawrence W. Taggart, Sr.

She is survived by one sister, Ethel T. Klopf, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She received a bachelor of science degree in education from St. Mary’s Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana and a master’s degree in administration from LSU.

She taught at New Orleans parochial schools at St. John the Baptist, St. Leo the Great, St. Matthias, Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Anthony of Padua. Other Louisiana schools where she taught include St. Agnes, Baton Rouge; St. Peter, Reserve; St. Mary’s Assumption, Cottonport; and St. Rosalie, Harvey. She also served as principal at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Belle Chasse, Louisiana for six years and as principal at St. Agnes School in Baton Rouge for three years.

Services are today at 10 a.m., in the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse Chapel, 580 Broadway, New Orleans, with interment at the Dominican Sisters Cemetery in Rosaryville, Ponchatoula.

Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

WALKER

DESTREHAN – Walter Anthony Walker, 70, a native of Norco and resident of Cut Off, died oct. 7. He was the father of Stephanie Vega, Elizabeth Heitkamp McCaleb and Russell Walker.

He was also the brother of Faye Louque, Catherine Dufresne, Diane Johnson and Howard Walker Jr.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 11 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.

WEBB

LUTCHER – Paul Neil Webb, 79, a native of Townsend, Tenn., and resident of Gramercy, died Oct. 10.

He was the husband of 50 years of Lee E. Carriere Webb and father of Malinda Rein and Deborah Webb.

He was also the son of the late Frank and Blanche Myers Webb, and brother of June Kimsey, Juanita Gheens, and the late Beulah, Howard and Hugh Webb.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army retiree, recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and a member of VFW Post 5852. He was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Memorial services are today at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Rose Lynn Funeral Home, Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
