ADAMS

VACHERIE – Coleman “Co-Cole” Adams, 96, a native of Vacherie and resident of Wallace, died Aug. 17. He was the husband of the late Felma Alexander Adams, and father of Kenneth Adams, and the late Lawrence Adams.

He was also the son of the late Narcisse and Amelia Adams and was preceded in death by 13 sisters and brothers.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 23, at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

ANDERSON

RESERVE – Dwayne Patrick Anderson, 27, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 18.

He was the son of Elaine Temple and Roland Anderson Sr. And brother of Jerome and Rolane Anderson Jr. He was also the fiancé of Qiana Taylor.

He was also the grandchild of Louis Anderson Sr., Ceola and Charles Temple Sr., and the late Alberta Lewis Anderson.

Services were Aug. 24, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

CHARLES

ST. JAMES – Kenyatta Renee Charles, 22, a native and resident of St. James, died Aug. 20. She was the mother of Reyana Weber and fiancee of Reydaishun Weber.

She was also the daughter of Herman Sr. and Lucille Charles and sister of Desiree Oubre, Eleria, Herman Jr., Antonio and Kiandra Charles.

She was a student at Ascension College and employee of Women’s Healthcare Associates.

Services were Aug. 24, at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.

MARTIN

PAULINA – Rene Louis Martin, a resident of Paulina, died Aug. 19. He was the husband of Emmeline Martin and father of Lana Guidry, Marlene Gould, Anita Bulloick, Jean Thibodaux and Joan Danos.

He was also the brother of Lillie Mae Vicknair.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.

MATHERNE

HAHNVILLE – Dee R. Matherne, 31, a native and resident of Hahnville, died Aug. 23. He was the former husband of Pam Anderson Matherne.

He was also the son of Richard and Pam Matherne and brother of Kelli Matherne.

He was also the grandchild of Harry, and the late Bernadine Matherne, Sybil and the late Albert Naquin.

Services are today at 10 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville.

NICHOLAS

LULING – Jay Baptiste Nicholas, 86, a native of Taft and resident of Luling, died Aug. 22. He was the husband of Cecile Bergeron Nicholas and father of Brian Nicholas.

He was also the son of the late Jean and Regina Champagne Nicholas, and brother of Lydia Bergeron, Julia Tastet, and the late Lena Russo, Irene Horn and Inez Hickey.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3750 and American Legion Post 131 in Luling.

Services were Aug. 24, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

PERRILLOUX

HAHNVILLE – Kertasha Leigh Perrilloux was stillborn Aug. 16. She was the daughter of Eric and Rolonda Perrilloux of Reserve.

She was also the grandchild of Ruby and Roland Fiffie Sr., and Ferdinand and Era Perrilloux. She was also the great-grandchild of Ethel Mae Perrilloux and Mary Brown Ross.

Private services were held, with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville.

STEPHENS

PAULINA – Freda Duhe Stephens, 84, a resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 19. She was the wife of Miles Stephens and mother of Lina Zimmermann and Ralph Stephens.

She was also the daughter of the late Albert and Linda Duhe, and sister of Gilbert, Allen and Herbert Duhe, and the late Trainey Caruso, hazel Bogush, Genvieve, Albert “Junior” and Ferdis Duhe.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.

TOUPS

LULING – Ruth Peyregne Toups, 78, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling, died Aug. 20. She was the wife of Carl Toups and mother of Lydia McCombs, Gretchen McDonald, Kayla Danos, Byron and Troy Toups.

She was also the daughter of the late Paul and Jeanne Dugas Peyregne, and sister of Lillie Mae Boyer, Janella Brady and Marilyn Roberts, and the late Dorothy Rensberger, Dora Eusea, Jeanne Laque and Noble Peyregne.

She is also survived by six grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
