Many considered their first victory an upset.
Friday night, ESJ found out what it was like to lose a game for the first time in a while.
Taking on one of the best teams in the state, the Wildcats fell to Thibodeaux on the road, 88-70, Friday night.
Ryan Perrilloux led the Wildcats with 20 points and Willie Lago had 16 in the defeat.
The loss to the Tigers drops ESJ to 23-8 overall and 8-3 in district play.
Perhaps the biggest key of the game was the final quarter. Known for their depth and ability to wear opposing teams down, it was the Wildcats turn to falter in the game’s final period as Thibodeaux outscored East St. John 35-24 in the fourth quarter.
After taking on Hahnville yesterday, the Wildcats will look to get back to their winning ways Friday night when they take on rival Destrehan.
