RESERVE-It’s getting almost out of hand for the opponents of Reserve Christian’s girls basketball.

One of the highest scoring teams in the state, the Lady Eagles put 90 points up on the scoreboard again with a 90-13 defeat of Houma Christian on Tuesday night.

The Smith twins, Treneese and Trenell again led the Lady Eagle attack. Treneese scored 27 points and Trennell had 25. Jessica Porter added 17 points and Jayna Morris had 15 points in the victory.

The win pushes the Reserve girls record to 21-5 on the season and 5-0 in district 10-2A play.

Reserve head coach Kevin Branch continues to be pleased with his team’s performance.

“We had our starters on the bench in the fourth quarter,” Branch said. “The referees even commented that we were not pressing them so they didn’t know what else we could do.

“We just played a zone defense. There was nothing else that we could do.”

Branch said he did not try to run up the score against Houma Christian.

“How can I tell my kids to not play?,” Branch said. “How we got that big lead was our pressure defense in the first half. We really took it to them in the first quarter and then after that we went to a zone defense and just sat back. I tried to let them shoot the ball from the outside but they just couldn’t do it.”
