ST. ROSE – Jackie “Square” Vial, 75, died August 10. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Chaisson Vial.
He is survived by niece Lisa Guidry and various adopted family and caregivers.
He was preceded in death by parents Ulrich and Beulah Guidry Vial. He was also preceded in death by sister Jacqueline Strickland.
Services will be held next week.

LASSERE
PAULINA – Blake Anthony Lassere, 19, a native and resident of Paulina, died August 13. He was the son of Scott Lassere and Lori Oubre Borne.
He is survived by brother Dylan Lassere.
He is also survived by grandparents Liz Lassere and John and Lenore Oubre.
He was preceded in death by grandfather Lionel Lassere, Jr.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Paulina with interment in the cemetery.

POCHE’
LUTCHER – Warren Michael “Moon” Poche, 65, a native and resident of Hester, died August 10.
He is survived by siblings Harris “Malant” Poche, Douglas Poche, and Mark “Booga” Poche. He is also survived by a numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Mark and Enola Roussell Poche. He was also preceded in death by siblings Elwood, Barry and Larry Poche and an infant sister.
Services were held August 14 at Alexander Funeral Home of l.utcher with interment in the church cemetery.

POTTS
GARYVILLE – Ursula Potts, 45, a native and resident of Garyville, died August 8. She was the husband of Leon Potts.
She is survived by children Delisa, Bridget, La’Keisha, Tracy and Termaine Weber and step-children Rachel Campbell, Troy and Leon Potts, Jr.
She is also survived by siblings Myra Jean Cook, Celestin and Bryan Stevens.
She was preceded in death by parents Marion and Celestine Stevens.
She was also preceded in death by siblings Joann Weber and Calvin Stevens.
Services were held August 15 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ of LaPlace with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery of Lyons.

LAPLACE – Thomas Rome, 79, a longtime resident of LaPlace, died August 6. He was the husband of Martha Rome.
He is survived by children Thomas Rome, Jr., Paulette Kilburn, Lorraine Tamburello, Renee Natell, Mary Lynne Barends, April Wehrs, and Nicole Gatewood.
He is also survived by siblings Ann “Teet” Salzer, Jean, Russell and Tony Rome.
He was preceded in death by parents Jean and Elucia Rome. He was also preceded in death by first wife Rita Mae Rome and daughter Karen Ann Rome.
Services will be at 6 p.m., August 18 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace.
STOKER
ST. ROSE – Gynell Galatas Stoker, 42, a native of St. Rose, died August 10. She was the companion of Patrick Clark.
She is survived by mother Lille Galatas Stuard and children Aaron Stoker, Sr., Bradley Galatas, Jamie Stokes, and stepchildren Jennifer Clark and Sarah Clark.
She is also survived by siblings William Charles, Russel Galatas, John Stuard, Jimmie Stuard, Lee Russo, Loretta Frohmeyer, Debbie Rosonet, Sherri Prince, Betty Fremin and Jackie Altazon.
She was preceded in death by father William “Skeet” Galatas, Sr. She was also preceded in death by siblings Earline Hammett, Newton Galatas and William Galatas.
Services were held August 15 at Alexander funeral Home of Norco with interment in Jefferson memorial Gardens of St. Rose.
