EDGARD – Cecilia “Chat” Bailey, 88, a native and resident of Edgard, died April 18. She was the wife of the late Eddie Bailey.
She is survived by siblings Thelma Lumar and Fabolia Sutton, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Naomi Jarrow and children Carolyn Davis and Victor Bailey Sr.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church cemetery, Edgard.
The Baloney Funeral Home of Edgard is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.
ESTEEN
VACHERIE – Cecilia Dumas Esteen, 78, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans, died April 18. She was the wife of Lorenzo Esteen.
She is survived by her daughter Gertrude B. (Joseph Sr.) Robinson.
She is also survived by godchildren Joseph Jr. and Terrence Robinson, step-children Lorenzo Jr., Donald, Darrell, Wayne, Deanne and Debra Esteen, siblings Priscilla D. Gros, Velma D. Calloway, Helen D. Jeffery and Lois D. Batiste, as well as several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elphege and Eva Louis Dumas and siblings Essie D. Thornton, Maude D. Lemieux, Eva D. James, Ralph, Claude, Bernard, Eddie and Mildred Dumas.
Services were held April 21 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.
GREEN
VACHERIE – Rhonda Marie Green, 40, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 14. She was the daughter of George and Eva Green.
She is survived by her children Tauranarist and Amiya Green.
She is also survived by siblings Joyce (Bruce) Harris, Carol (James) Florent, George (Lindy) Green, Elvin Green, Harold, Brian, Rodney (Debra), Kevin, Joshua, Darrell (Veronica) and Anthony Green.
She was preceded in death by a brother Jerome Green.
Services were held April 21 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.
HEARY
ST. JAMES – Alice Heary, 89, a native and resident of St. James, died April 16. She was the wife of the late Louis Heary.
She is survived by her children Amelia Henderson, Lydia Stewart, Yvonne Green, Patricia Schexnayder, Barbara Poche and Betty Stewart.
She is also survived by her siblings Aline, Sedonia Spendcer, Elvenvie Rodrique, Janie Sutherland, Pheldine Monconduit and Lionel Spencer, 25 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren and 10 great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by children Albemia Mayho and Louis Heary Jr.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment in the church cemetery.

JARREAU
EDGARD – Alice Jarreau, 91, a native of Edgard and a resident of Edgard and Chicago, Illinois, died April 18. She was the daughter of the late Theresa Burrell.
She is survived by two siblings Marie August and Arthmese Mathieu and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by siblings Cleo J. Thomas and Loretta Johnson.
Services were held April 21 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church mausoleum.
MARKS
LAPLACE – Ronald T. Marks, 67, a native of Port Barre and a resident of LaPlace, died April 19. He was the husband of Eula Marks.
He is survived by his children Phyllis Laurent, Toby Marks, Kevin Marks, Nikki Fazzio and Danielle
Rebstock.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Kent Marks.
Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.

GRAND POINT – Noeda Bourgeois Matherne, 77, a native and resident of Grand Point, died April 17. She was the wife of the late Newman Matherne Sr.
She is survived by her children Newman “Pete” (Melvina “Cookie”) Matherne, Phyllis (Larry) LeBranche, Mary (Craig) Roques and Carrie (Michael) Guidry.
She is also survived by sisters Rowena Stein and Marion Madere, grandchildren Michael and Amy Matherne, Corey LaBranche, Holly LaBranche Troxler, Brandon and Lance Roques and Bryce and Jermey Guidry and great-grandchildren Courtney Roques, Bryce and Tristen Troxler, Chloe Matherne and McKaylee Guidry.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ludovic and Louise Loque Bourgeois and brothers Elton and Russel Bourgeois.
Services were held April 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the church mausoleum.
MILLET
LAPLACE – Joseph S. Millet, 82, a native of Montz and a resident of LaPlace, died April 18. He was the husband of Muriel Borne Millet.
He is survived by his children Glen (Catherine) Millet, Elizabeth (Richard) Hebert, Margaret (Edwin “Squint”) Laiche and Eugene “Zip” (Belinda) Millet.
He is also survived by a sister Ethel Millet Weber, grandchildren Kevin Millet, Casey Millet, Jessica Millet, Dixon Laiche, Aimee Fabre, Jason Fabre, Lizzette Fuseller, Megan and Monica Millet and great-grandchildren Gracie and Maddie Millet, Eathan and Aaron Millet, Ray, Wyatt and Sarah Laiche, Ori Fabre and Eli Fuseller.
He was preceded in death by his parents Levy Millet and Veleda Hymel Millet, siblings Charles “June” and Etienne Millet and Thelma Millet Pizzolato, grandchildren Kurt Fabre, Baby Fabre, Nickie Millet and Ray Laiche and nephews and nieces Michael and James Millet and Betty June Vice.

PAULINA – Paul James Oubre Sr., 69, a native of Gramercy and a resident of Paulina, died April 18. He was the fiancé of Nancy Jaeger.
He is survived by his children Donna (Douglas) Naquin, Paul Jr. (Nancy) Oubre, Don Oubre and Ricky (Shelly) Oubre.
He is also survived by siblings Emily Lambert, Rita Laiche, Mary Bourgeois, Gilmer Oubre and Maurice Oubre, grandchildren Kaci Louque, Jonathan Oubre, Ryan Naquin, Christa Oubre, Jordan Oubre and Joshua Oubre.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Sr. and Emily Kilburn Oubre and siblings Willie Jr. and Alcee Oubre.

NEW SARPY – Freeman Patterson Sr., 70, a native and resident of New Sarpy, died April 15. He was the husband of the late Katherine T. Patterson.
He is survived by his children Freeman Jr., Rickey and Jeff Patterson.
He is also survived by a brother Walter Patterson, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Ophelia P. Patterson.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Beechgrove Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment in Providence Cemetery, LaPlace.

DESTREHAN – Rodney Lamal “Louizana” Turner, 24, a native of Destrehan and a resident of Destrehan and Houston, Texas, died April 17. He was the son of Sheryl L. Perry and Herbert Turner.
He is survived by his children Da’Nayshia Armeni (mother Rique), Kaliyah Lanay Turner (mother Kia) and Samon Boyd.
