On Tuesday night, St. Charles made short work of Hannan, outscoring the Hawks 36-1 in the first half on their way to a 47-9 victory at home.
Michelle Marzoni led the team with 14 points. Brooke Becker and Jennifer Julien scored eight each, and Brittany Roussel scored six.
St. Charles Coach Erin Remondet said that the Comets (5-3) were able to explore different offensive options after establishing a lead, particularly against a 2-3-zone defense like Hannan employs.
“We were working all of our options into the offense, making 10 passes, and doing things that we might not be able to do in the heat of a closer game,” said Remondet. “We were able to work on and see our different options.”
Marzoni, a senior, says that this Comets team has the potential to go farther than the others she has been a part of.
“I feel a lot more confident this season. We’re really clicking as a team,” said Marzoni. “We’re practicing a lot harder and have been more focused. There’s a comfort zone there since we’re all good friends.”
