LAPLACE – St. Charles Parish District Attorney Harry J. Morel said that his office successfully concluded an eight-month-old case of armed robbery and sexual battery, when accused Dwan Storks, 27, of Killona pled guilty in exchange for a 20-year sentence.

For the next two decades, Storks will serve under the Louisiana Department of Corrections without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. He will also be forced to register as a sex offender upon his release.

Storks confessed to attacking a Luling woman, and stealing her laptop and money, on November 12, 2006, after following her home from a gas station that night. According to police reports, Storks walked up to her house and gained entry to the residence by pretending to need directions.

Once inside, police reports say he pistol-whipped the woman, sexually assaulted her, and kidnapped her from her home.

Acting in cooperation with the U.S. Marshall’s service, the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office found Storks hiding in a Norco home shortly before 10 p.m. on November 30, 2006.
