RESERVE – The St. John Sheriff’s Office is seeking a trio of men that reportedly shot a LaPlace man five times and robbed him, before leaving his bullet-riddled body laying on the ground in the parking lot of a Reserve grocery store late Saturday night.

The trio reportedly confronted Yarnell Randle, 26, in front of the Minute-Stop in Reserve at 8 p.m. and unloaded three shots into his leg and two into his abdomen before they fled the scene in a white vehicle.

A store employee called authorities, who arrived immediately and transported Randle to River Parishes Hospital and later transferred him to University Hospital in New Orleans.

Investigators determined that robbery was the motive, but would not release what articles were stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. John Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers at 652-9514 and 1-877-903-STOP, respectively.
