East St. John won its fifth straight game on Saturday, defeating host John Ehret 4-3.
Jasmine Brown led the way for the Ladycats (10-9-1), going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Seymone McKinney added an RBI of her own, while going 2-for-4. Samantha Owens and Laci Roy each added a hit for the Ladycats, who had seven on the game.
Stacy Sutton and Krista Tamplain combined to hold the Patriots to three hits and three unearned runs. Sutton, returning from an injury, earned the win after pitching the first four innings. She then gave way to Tamplain, who went the rest of the way.
It was East St. John’s second win in a week over Ehret. Last Saturday, the Wildcats defeated the Patriots 2-0 as part of the Higgins tournament.
On Thursday, the Ladycats will be in district action, hosting Hahnville at 4 p.m.
