Authorities in St. John Parish arrested a St. Rose man Friday after he allegedly raped a former girlfriend following an argument at her home, said a spokesman for the St. John Sheriff’s Office

Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said Michael Johnson, 26, 604 Club Drive, St. Rose, was taken into custody around 7:30 p.m. Friday after the victim reported the incident earlier that day.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office the victim, who will remain unidentified, told detectives that Johnson came to her home around 12:27 a.m. to talk to her about matters dealing with the couple’s children. Clement said at some point during that argument the alleged physical and sexual assault took place inside the home.

The victim was transported to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace for treatment of her injuries.

Johnson was booked into the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace on charges of forcible rape. He is being held on a $100,150 bond.
