Sexton

Lester L. “Red” Sexton, age 92, passed from this life into his heavenly home on Jan. 1, 2009, at 4:00 a.m. He was a native of Rosedale, La., and a resident of Gramercy. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a retiree of Kaiser Aluminum. He was the proud owner of Gramercy Wood Products. The memories of Lester will continue to live through those touched by his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Madeline Lucia Sexton, daughters Jo Ann Poche’ and Georgia Sexton Hymel, son George, daughter-in-law Gwen Patterson and son-in-law Tim Hymel. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and sister Tosty Fortenberry.

He was preceded in death by his son Vince Patterson, grandson Todd M. Poche, parents John and Virginia Sexton, brothers Leland and Gerald Sexton and sisters Amus Zeigher and Daisy Greer.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.
