LAPLACE – Because of inclement weather conditions, the schedule for a lane closure on eastbound Interstate 10 has been modified.

On the eastbound I-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish from U.S. Highway 51 to the St. Charles Parish line, the inside/ left lane will be closed through Friday, Dec. 11, and Monday, Dec. 14, through Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily while crews remove vegetation between the eastbound and westbound lanes.

The DOTD has not ruled out the possibility of further modifying the schedule.

This closure will allow vehicles up to 12 feet wide to pass through the construction zone. The road is open for regular traffic but oversize vehicles and loads are still under permit restrictions. One lane will be open to traffic at all times; however, to avoid the lane closure, motorists may detour using U.S. Highway 51 south to Airline Highway to Interstate 310 north.
