Some predictions for the new year

I’ve taken the liberty to make the following predictions for the New Year:
1. Governor Jindal will stop running for president of the United States and be the governor of Louisiana – a job the people elected him to perform.
2. Talking about the presidency – Barack Obama will realize (I hope) that he is the president of the United States and not the savior of the world.
3. Mayor Ray Nagin will take a trip the people of New Orleans won’t criticize – a ride into the sunset – out of politics. (Good riddance)
4. Mitch Landrieu will be elected mayor of New Orleans on his third attempt and be a refreshing change.
5. Speaking of the Landrieu’s – U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu will finally be thankful that her mom and dad (the proud parents of nine children) were pro-life and change her pro-choice position.
6. U.S. Sen. David Vitter will defeat Congressman Charlie Melancon in a bitter battle.
7. The March 27, 2010, special election for parish president will find Dr. Gerald Keller and Councilman Dale Wolfe leading the pack and forcing a runoff.
8. St. Charles Catholic High School will win the 2A Baseball State Championship.
9. Riverside Academy will win the Basketball State Championship.
10. The high schools in the River Parishes will continue to be a force in all sports.
11. State Sen. Joel Chaisson will continue to quietly be a power in the State Senate and may entertain the idea of seeking the governorship.
12. Superintendent Dr. Courtney Millet will be honored as one of the education leaders in our state.
13. The LSU baseball team will again win the College World Series.
14. Tulane will finally announce that they de-emphasized football years ago but didn’t tell their fans.
15. LSU coach Les Miles will bless the Tiger fans by not giving a pre-game interview and giving a post-game interview at midnight for people suffering from insomnia. That will put anybody to sleep.
