LULING — United Way of St. Charles received the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations Seal of Excellence at the Standards for Excellence Award Ceremony in Baton Rouge on Oct. 21.

The LANO Seal of Excellence is awarded to nonprofit organizations that are compliant with the Louisiana Standards for Excellence and demonstrate honesty, integrity, efficiency and accountability. Each organization applying for certification submits to a rigorous peer-review, which assess the organization’s practices and determines if they meet the standards.

Since 2006, United Way of St. Charles has been one of 54 Louisiana nonprofit organizations to receive the LANO Seal of Excellence.

According to LANO, “certification distinguishes an organization in the eyes of funders, supporters and the public, strengthens its board and staff and increases its capacity to serve its mission. Certified organizations earn the right to use the Seal of Excellence as a symbol that donors and the public can trust.”

United Way of St. Charles is a non-profit organization which works to create lasting changes in St. Charles Parish by funding local agencies and developing programs that target education, income and health.
