Imelda “Mike” Ayme, 89, passed away on April 26, 2010.
A native of Garyville, Ayme lived in LaPlace most of her life and moved post-Katrina to Kansas City, Mo., where she lived with the Little Sisters of the Poor for the past five years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ayme-Delia, and her husband, Ray; her sons, George and Harold Ayme; her grandchildren, Rae Zewe-McDowney, Chad Ayme and his wife, Nickie, Marci Ayme-Jeandron and her husband, Danny, Ashley Ayme, Matthew Ayme, Brad Ayme and David Ayme and his wife, Sybel; and great-grandchildren, Quincy McDowney Jr. and Elias and Noah Ayme.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ayme Sr., sons Larry and Bobby Ayme Jr., parents George and Althe Borne and sister Altheanne Laiche.
Visitation was held at Millet Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Saturday, May 1, and was followed by Mass and interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Reserve.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Road, Raytown, MO 64138-4490. Mass offerings would also be appreciated.
