LAPLACE – As part of an initiative to improve traffic signals on Airline Highway, the state Department of Transportation and Development said construction and installation of mast arm poles that began April 12 will continue through April 30.
Variable lane closures on both eastbound and westbound lanes of Airline Highway from Terre Haute Road to the weigh station past U.S. 51 will begin at 9 a.m.
The work hours from Terre Haute Road to Belle Terre Boulevard will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. From Belle Terre to the weigh station, work will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The DOTD said the work is expected to be completed Thursday afternoon.
Oversize loads greater than 16 feet in width will be restricted during phases of work requiring lane closures. To coordinate movement of these loads, contact Project Engineer Jason Ellerbee at 985-652-2204.
