LAPLACE – First Baptist Church of LaPlace has recently become a host site of the Georgia-based Angel Food Ministries.

Angel Food is a non-denominational ministry focusing on feeding the less fortunate.

For $31, one can purchase a box of food valued at about $65. According to Angel Food’s website, the boxes are enough to feed a family of four for about a week or a single senior citizen for nearly a month.

According to FBC member Alfred Cutno, the menu changes each month, and the price may fluctuate slightly with the content.

Each box contains a variety of proteins and vegetables along with staples such as bread, milk and eggs. Additionally, “specialty boxes” of steak, chicken, pork or other items may be purchased.

The deadline to order is Sept. 19, and orders may be picked up between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 25.

To place an order, call Cutno at 225-413-4431.
