River Parishes Hospital names interim CEO

LAPLACE – Hospital executive veteran Michael R. Burroughs, FACHE, has been appointed to serve as chief executive officer on an interim basis for River Parishes Hospital according to Michael Clark, president of the American Division of LifePoint Hospitals of which River Parishes is a part.
Former River Parishes CEO Charlotte Dupre resigned effective July 9, 2010.
“With more than 20 years of experience in hospital administration, Mike Burroughs has a strong track record coupled with exceptional leadership skills. These qualities will ensure a successful transition at River Parishes as we begin an aggressive national search to identify a permanent CEO,” said Clark.
Since 1987, Burroughs has served in executive leadership positions for seven acute care hospitals. Most recently, he has served as president and CEO of MB Associates International LLC, a healthcare leadership consulting firm based in Arlington, Texas, serving clients from both U.S. and international healthcare organizations.
Burroughs earned a Master of Health Administration from St. Louis University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an adjunct professor in health administration for the University of Texas in Arlington.
