HAHNVILLE – Authorities in St. Charles Parish have arrested three Destrehan teenagers in connection with an October armed robbery at a Destrehan Capital One Bank.
Deputies arrested Brandon L. Simms, 17, 210 Meadows Drive, and James C. Walker Jr., 17, 326 River Oaks Drive, on Monday afternoon and Howard K. Charles Jr., 19, 304 River Oaks Drive, on Tuesday morning, said Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office. LaGrange said all three were booked with armed robbery in connection with the Oct. 24 robbery of a Popeyes employee outside of the Capital One Bank at 13510 River Road in Destrehan.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the employee, a 50-year-old Destrehan woman, told deputies she was making a night deposit at the bank around 10 p.m. when she was approached by several men near the deposit box.
The woman said one of the men, armed with a knife, pushed her to the ground while the other grabbed two bank bags filled with cash from the restaurant. Authorities would not say how much money was taken.
LaGrange said Howard was arrested at Destrehan High School Tuesday morning but would not say whether Howard is a student at the school. He said both Simms and Walker, who turned themselves in Monday, are students in the St. Charles Parish school system.
LaGrange said Howard is being held on a $150,000 bond, while Simms and Walker are both being held on $75,000 bonds. All three were booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility in Killona.
