Authorities looking for two men accused in stabbing

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish detectives are investigating an assault on a 30-year-old LaPlace man who was stabbed and beaten by two unidentified men Thursday morning, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said the victim, whose name was not released, told deputies he was returning home from work around 5:20 a.m. Thursday when two men approached him at the front door of his home in the 2900 block of Williamsburg Drive.
The two men beat and stabbed the victim before fleeing the area in a dark colored SUV, Clement said. The man was taken to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace, where he was treated for blunt force head trauma, facial fractures and multiple stab wounds to the head and upper body. The man was stabilized and later transferred to a hospital in New Orleans.
