LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting in Reserve Monday that left a Garyville man injured.
Capt. Dane Clement, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said deputies were called to the 300 block of East 13th Street in Reserve just after 3 p.m. Monday, where they found the 28-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to his outer right thigh.
Investigators said based on evidence at the scene, the victim was shot somewhere on East 14th Street. The victim then ran to a nearby residence one block over to seek help, while the shooter fled in a vehicle traveling on East 14th street toward River Road.
Clement said the man told deputies he did not know who had shot him, or what kind of car the person was driving at the time of the shooting. The victim was transported to LSU Interim Hospital in New Orleans for treatment of his injuries. His condition is not known, Clement said.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting should call St. John Parish Sheriff detectives at 985-652-6338 or Crimestoppers at 504-288-1111.
