LAPLACE – The relocation of a water line under the Ridgefield canal at Country Club Drive in LaPlace will force the suspension of water service to residents in the area as work continues on the Country Club Drive bridge, according to a release from St. John the Baptist Parish Officials.

Parish spokesperson Paige Braud said work on the water line relocation will begin Tuesday morning. She said residents on Country Club Drive between Fairway Drive and Carmel Valley Drive will lose water from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The parish utilities department will work as efficiently as possible to get this project completed and the water restored in a timely manner,” Braud said.

Upon completion of the relocation project, affected residents will be under a boil water advisory until test results are received from the state Department of Health and Hospitals.

Braud said residents will be notified when water services are restored and the boil advisory has been lifted. She said residents can tune in to the parish’s public access channel 15 or log on to www.sjbparish.com for more information.

The water line relocation is part of a four-month long project that began Jan. 31 to completely replace the aging Country Club Drive bridge.
