Charles “Charlie” Alack, 88, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at River Parishes Hospital.
He was the owner of Charlie’s Barber Shop for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post 195. He has lived in Norco for the past 54 years.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Alack (Marty); three daughters: Charlan Faucheaux (Buddy), Rose Faucheaux (Bobby) and Janet A. Martin; brother, Russell Alack Jr.; five sisters: Sarah Barovechio, Rosalie Taylor, Jennie Gaumond, Loretta Guillot and Josie Burris, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette “Ann” Spera Alack; his parents, Russell Alack and Jennie Anzalone Alack; and three brothers; Joe, Nat and Louis Alack.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, from 9:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon from the church with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating. Military honors will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
