St. John deputies investigate parish’s fourth homicide of the year

LAPLACE – Authorities in St. John the Baptist Parish are investigating the parish’s fourth homicide of the year after a 42-year-old Reserve man was found shot on East 14th Street this morning.

Capt. Dane Clement, spokesman for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, said deputies were called to the 100 block of East 14th Street around 5:22 a.m., where they found the victim had sustained gunshots. The victim, Frank Dwayne Lewis, 42, was transported to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace where succumbed to his injuries just after 6 a.m.

Clement said no one else was injured in the incident. There are currently no suspects or motive in the killing.
