LAPLACE – With the Oct. 22 general election just days away, last week L’Observateur asked visitors to its website if and how they planned to vote.
Nearly half of poll respondents said they planned to head to the polls and vote the old-fashioned way, albeit through updated means.
Saturday was the last day to take advantage of early voting. Nearly 40 percent of respondents said they planned to utilize early voting.
Of the remaining voters, most said they are registered to vote but do not plan to vote in the election. Only 5 percent of respondents said they planned to cast an absentee ballot.
A full breakdown of results follows:
• 38 percent of respondents chose “I am taking advantage of early voting.”
• 5 percent of respondents chose “I will cast an absentee ballot.”
• 47 percent of respondents chose “I will vote at a polling location Oct. 22.”
• 2 percent of respondents chose “I am not registered to vote.”
• 9 percent of respondents chose “I am registered to vote but do not plan to vote in the Oct. 22 election.”
