With kids off from school for Fall break and beautiful weather, Jeff Whitney of GrandPoint, seized the opportunity go fishing. On Monday, Oct. 10, Jeff, with 9-year-old son Rhett Whitney and 8-year-old nephew Zack Poche, found a spot near Reserve Canal to catch the “big ones.” Fishing was interrupted when a baying, howling young beagle appeared on the bank, jumped into the water, started swimming toward the boat and climbed aboard into the boat.

The lucky dog had a tag, and when the owner was contacted he stated his beagle pup had been missing for two weeks and looking forwrd to for its return.

Jeff Whitney exclaimed, “We went fishing and caught a dog!”
