Forty-eight members from River Parishes Hospital’s Senior Friends Program enjoyed a chartered bus trip to Baton Rouge. The group began their trip with a creole mourning tour of the St. Joseph Plantation and enjoyed a box lunch in the courtyard.

Members learned about the history and culture of old creole Louisiana while learning about the history of the plantation. After lunch, members traveled to Carville for a tour of the National Hansen’s Disease and grounds. This museum stands as a monument to those individuals who battled Hansen’s disease.
