Casie Speaks, daughter of Wayne and Joann Speaks and granddaughter of Florence and the late Morris St. Pierre, joined  H.C. Alexander Funeral Home as an apprentice funeral director and embalmer.

Casie is a lifelong resident of St. James Parish. She graduated from Lutcher High School in 2008. Upon graduation, Casie attended Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Georgia. While attending Gupton Jones, Casie served as vice president of the student council.

Casie graduated from Gupton Jones on Aug. 26, 2011 with an associate degree in science.  She will serve a year internship with H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher and Norco and then become licensed in 2012 as a funeral director and embalmer.

Speaks said she is excited about serving and working for the town in which she was born and raised.
