Local receives high honor

Ma Coi Hollins of LaPlace was recently named Overall Top First Place soloist at Masquerade National Talent and Dance Competition in Destin, Fla. She also received the “Firestarter” Special Judges Award. Hollins, a student of Dance Unlimited of the River Parishes, performed a tap routine named “Something’s Got a Hold on Me.” She is a student of Duanne Cazalot, Angie Lehrmann and Kim Peters.
Hollins also won first overall top soloist and first overall top model at Star Systems Talent competition in Mobile; and first overall top soloist and first overall top model at Dancer’s Inc. in New Orleans. She received the Super Style and America’s Next Top Model special judges award. She is daughter of Quo Vadis and Carnell Hollins of LaPlace and is an eighth-grader at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace.
