Aleigha Shay Martin, 10-years-old of Garyville, auditioned for the New Orleans Hornets Junior Dance Team 2012-13, the Stingers, and made the team. She is the daughter of Bradley and Angie Martin. She is a fifth-grade student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.

Martin dances at Aimee’s Dance Academy in LaPlace. She travels both locally and nationally dancing for Aimee’s Dance Academy as a member of the competition team. She has been dancing since she was 2-years-old. Martin auditioned along with 100 boys and girls for a spot on the Stingers and 20 kids were selected to be part of the team.
