St. Joan of Arc Catholic School held a celebration for its fifth-graders, who completed the D.A.R.E. program offered in conjunction with the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office. The D.A.R.E. students learned how to recognize and resist the direct and subtle pressures that influence them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drugs. Children also learned ways to be in charge and hot to recognize and resist peer pressure. The school held an essay contest in conjunction with the program. The winners are (left to right) April Bourlet, Grant Vicknair, Alex East and Maddie Millet.
