St. Joan of Arc donation

Father Patrick Hirtz and Phil Moore from Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Germantown, Tenn., visited St. Joan of Arc School to deliver a load of school supplies from their school. Hirtz, who was at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Covington during Hurricane Katrina, was among the priests who accompanied Archbishop Schulte into New Orleans after the storm to hold Mass in a once-flooded church. He also gutted homes and helped residents, and he remembered how important replenishing supplies for students as they return to school was. Each year Moore and his wife lead their OLPH community in collecting school supplies for hundreds of underprivileged students in a community near their home. The students at OLPH collected the donated supplies as part of their service project for the month of September.
