Irene Roques Bourgeois, 82, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in Houston. She was a lifelong resident of Paulina, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters and was very active in church life including offertory counting, baptism garment sewing and making rosaries to send to missions.

She is survived by her daughter, Giselle B. Loisel (Don), sister Theresa Roques Miley, brothers, Nelson, Maurice and Alban Roques Jr., and three grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph and Kristina Loisel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nolan Bourgeois, parents, Aline Ordeneaux and Alban Joseph Roques, brothers Theophile, Achille and Pascal Roques and sister Sr. Mary Juliana Roques.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Highway, Lutcher, and will continue on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Vincent Dufresne as celebrant with burial to follow in the church mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2130 Rectory Road, Paulina, LA 70763.
