LAPLACE – the Lutcher High School Student Council will be planting a tree to honor the lives of recently deceased Lutcher High student Darvell Johnson, 15, and Lutcher Elementary student Darquell Scott, 10, on Friday, May 24, at 2:30 p.m.

Johnson and Scott passed away in a vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning. Daris and front seat passenger Angel Scott were properly restrained and suffered minor injuries. Darquell Scott and Daryell Johnson and were not wearing seat belts and were pronounced dead on the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
The memorial ceremony will be held in the front of Lutcher High School. A balloon launch will also take place. Balloons can be purchased for $1 at the Lutcher High School main office. For more information, contact Rachael Abraham at 504-982-1065.
