Suspect arrested in Yorketown Drive burglary

LAPLACE – On Monday, May 20, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 2800 block of Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace for the report of a man standing at the backdoor of a residence and peering through the glass portion of the door.  

When deputies arrived, they saw a man matching the description of the reported subject walking along a canal behind the residence.  The perpetrator was identified as Wilbur Dominique, 20, of Cambridge Drive.

Deputies canvassed the backyards of neighboring houses and saw a broken window on a house.  After deputies determined the house was burglarized, they notified detectives. Detectives booked Dominique with simple burglary, simple criminal damage and peeping tom.  His bond is $26,000.
