Garyville armed robbery suspect sought

LAPLACE – The St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred during the early morning hours in Garyville Thursday.
Deputies responded to the 400 block of Historic Main Street in Garyville where the victim, a 27-year-old Garyville man, told deputies he was driving on Historic Main Street when a black male dressed in all black clothing flagged him down.
When he stopped, the perpetrator pointed a handgun at him and demanded his money. The victim surrendered his money, and the perpetrator walked off towards Stebbins Street. The victim was not injured during the incident.
