Lutcher — St. James Parish Hospital announced its first Employee of the Quarter for 2013, Carolyn Bossier. Bossier was nominated by fellow employees and chosen by the Executive Leadership Team for her dedication to the hospital.
Bossier has held several positions in her 33 years as a dedicated St. James Parish Hospital employee. She is currently the Education Coordinator and Employee Health Director. Bossier graduated from Nicholls State University in 1980 with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
Rachel Becnel, Director of Business Development and Professional Services, nominated Bossier stating, “Carolyn went above and beyond the call of duty. She responded immediately to someone who had an accident. She called 911 and stayed with the person even after help arrived. Carolyn’s concern was for the patient. Carolyn has often displayed this trait of putting her own schedule aside for the needs of the community and our patients. She often stays late to teach a class or changes her schedule to fit in education. She demonstrates a true commitment to our patients and our community.”
Bossier was extremely honored to be awarded. “My connection with St. James Parish Hospital began in 1959. Since then, I have been a patient, a volunteer candy striper and an employee. As an employee, I have an attachment to the hospital and have enjoyed working with my co-workers. I have had the opportunity to be a part of the lives of so many people as a nurse caring for them or as the teacher offering classes. It is like working with and caring for family. When I look back over the years and I see where we have been and now to see where we are and what we have to offer, I am so thankful that I can be a part of this awesome place we have for our community,” said Bossier.
