LAPLACE — If Destrehan had ideas about sneaking up on anyone after three non-playoff seasons, then it wasn’t a plan well conceived.

The Wildcats put on their latest dominating performance this season on Friday night, blowing by visiting Helen Cox 55-12 at Destrehan.

Utah-committed quarterback Donovan Isom completed 12 of 14 passes for Destrehan in his latest razor sharp passing performance. He finished with 195 yards through the air and four touchdowns, while also leading the Wildcats in rushing with 45 yards.

DHS wideout Alfred Smith scored three times on the night, hauling in scores from 44 and 24 yards and also finding paydirt on an 11-yard run. Isom also dialed up Tremand Armstrong for two scoring passes, each 11-yarders.

E.D. White 28, St. James 14 — E.D. White tailback Darius Charles rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals to a win at St. James Friday night.

D’kwan Sandolph had a big game for the Wildcats, scoring both of his team’s touchdowns, one on a 59-yard reception off of a Lowell Narcisse pass and another from five yards out.

With a two-touchdown lead, E.D. White stopped St. James on fourth down with 6:30 left in the fourth quarter and killed the clock from there. The Wildcats had recovered an onside kick to set up their final set of downs.

Dannon Steib and Benjamin Sposito each scored for E.D. White
