Seniors Kaci Cazenave (right), 18, and Juliette Folse, 17, and junior Derek Walker, 17, chat as the girls prepare to get comfy in their stylish cardboard box at Hahnville High School’s Sleep in A Box event. The school has been doing the event for about six years now to raise awareness about poverty in the community and let the students experience what it might be like to be homeless. The students said the boxes are surprisingly warm, but they wouldn’t want to sleep in them every night. (Staff photo by Kimberly Hopson)
