The Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Saint Joseph No. 1642 celebrated Christmas with a banquet held at the Sacred Heart Center on Dec. 10. Joining the members of Court 1642 were their spouses and special guest, Deacon Alfred Adams his wife Diane and Fr. Ed Fuss.
The Christmas spirit could be felt throughout the center, as members and guests enjoyed a wine social, Christmas music in the background, tables set with beautiful poinsettia centerpieces and the wonderful smell of gumbo lingering in the air.
Adams blessed the gathering and meal, and everyone enjoyed hot chicken and andouille gumbo with potato salad. Albert Laiche prepared the meal. Dessert was a cake prepared by Theresa Roussel.
Following dinner everyone enjoyed a few games of bingo. Winners were presented one of the poinsettia centerpieces.
