Twelve graduates of the 2024 Fall FastTrac Entrepreneurial Program in St. John the Baptist Parish celebrated their graduation with family and friends, armed with financial literacy training.

The event took place at the Small Business Training Center at River Parishes Community College in Reserve. Attendees included St. John’s Parish President Jaclyn Hotard; Economic Development Director Michelle Jenkins Miller; FastTrac Administrator Wayne Aucoin; and Tatiana Bruce from the Louisiana Economic Development.

The program focuses on new entrepreneurs—those with less than five years of experience—and business owners operating informally or part-time.

It features ten training sessions on various topics and networking for small business owners. Upon completion, participants will have a business plan to seek funding.  

The program also involves facilitated activities and discussions, guest speakers, networking, coaching sessions, and action steps to help local small business owners grow. 

“The FastTrac program offers a tremendous benefit for businesses and entrepreneurs with over 200 graduates to date,” said Jaclyn, Parish President. “We are extremely fortunate to have these resources available at our local Community College through a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with St. John Economic Development, LED, and other partners. I commend all who have graduated from this rigorous program and wish them the best of luck.”
