Noeline Labat Satterlee, a native of White Castle and a longtime resident of LaPlace, La., passed away at her home surrounded by family on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

Visitation will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 529 W. 5th Street, LaPlace, La., on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. with burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery.

Noeline is survived by her children, Faye S. Mercer (Robert), Jane S. Charpentier (Faron), Tina S. Allen (Brian), Herbert J. Satterlee Jr. (Kayron), Lisa J. Satterlee; grandchildren, Benjamin (T’Niel) and Jason (Ashley) Mercer, Angela Whitehead (Randall), Katie Charpentier, Jenny Morici (Mike), John Charpentier, Abby Pietrowski (Paul), Hans Allen (Kelly), Caleb Allen, Kristin Satterlee (Renée), Adam Satterlee; great-grandchildren, McKayla, Owen, Bethany, Claire, Nora, Natalie, Noah, Ava, Isaac, Conner, Nolan, Asher, Elisha, Bri; sister-in-law, Geraldine Bleakley Labat and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert “Bud” Satterlee Sr.; her daughter, Susan A. Satterlee; parents, Mary Guercio and Joseph Arnold Labat, and siblings, Arnold J. Labat and Rosemary Evans (Eddie Sr.).

Noeline worked for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. She was an avid stamp collector in those days. When she retired in 1987, she learned how to hand quilt by taking a class with her daughter, Faye. Noeline made numerous quilts (for each of her children and grandchildren) with the help of her daughter, Susan (who pieced together the quilt tops). She enjoyed reading, football, and spending time with her family.
