The West Bank Bridge Park, Trailhead and the parking lot near the levee at the Mississippi River will close to the public at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, to prepare for the 34th annual Independence Day Celebration.
The facilities will reopen on Friday, July 5.
The event will take place 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the West Bank Bridge Park, where there will be food, live entertainment and spectacular fireworks.
The public will not be able to use the bike path, drive or walk past barricades near the levee during the fireworks assembly and cleanup.
Poppers, glass bottles and pets are not allowed inside of the park during the event. Alcohol will not be sold. Residents may bring ice chests and folding chairs to the event.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office will close I-310 southbound and northbound exits to River Road (La.-18) and La. 18 from Ashton Road to the School Board Office 15 minutes before the fireworks show.
