Letter: Making time to run shows commitment

Dear Editor,

I take issue with the recent news article about “Jogging vs. Running.”

Anyone who wishes can accept this information as factual, but I personally think it’s wrong.

Since my bodybuilding days, I’ve been running/jogging consistently and never catch a cold, nor do I even bother with becoming ill and have yet to consume any kind of medication whatsoever.

I appreciate my good genetics, but people will tend to believe what they want to believe, and running and/or jogging on a daily basis is one activity people love to think up reasons why they should never do it, because it’s not easy to force your body to do that on a daily basis.

Should a person experience a physical problem, such as bad knees, then I can understand their refusal to run or jog.

Thomas Daley, who recently passed away and was the D.A. for St. John the Baptist Parish, was a strong advocate of running and/or jogging regularly, and everyone who knew him will miss him and remember his commitment to serving others.
