HAHNVILLE, La. — Steven Ferraro, 54, was sentenced on Monday afternoon by Judge Connie M. Aucoin following his conviction on four counts of possessing pornography involving a juvenile under the age of 13 and three (3) counts of possessing pornography of a juvenile under the age of 17.
Ferraro was convicted by a St. Charles Parish jury on November 17, 2023. Judge Aucoin sentenced Ferraro to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections on each count and ordered those sentences to run concurrent. The sentences were imposed without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
In imposing her sentences, Judge Aucoin considered Ferraro’s age, 54, and disability as factors in mitigation. Ferraro, who was already in the custody of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff, was remanded to the Louisiana Department of Corrections immediately after sentencing. Ferraro was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Deanne R. Williams and Juan A. Byrd.
As articulated by Judge Aucoin in the sentencing on Monday, “the only way to eliminate the abuse of these child victims is to eliminate the market which profits off their torture.”
“The St. Charles Parish District Attorney’s Office is committed to vigorously prosecuting these crimes when committed in our Parish,” said First Assistant District Attorney Juan A. Byrd.
